עוגת שמרים - Yeast Cake

בפעם הקודמת שאפיתי עוגת שמרים, היא נזרקה לפח אחרי שזכתה לכינוי "לחם עם שוקולד" (ולא בקטע טוב). התקרית הזו גרמה לי להדחיק את קיומה של הקוביה האפורה הזו עד שנתקלתי השבוע בהסבר הפשוט והנגיש של מגי. זה הפך לפרויקט השבת שלי שנגמר בתרועת ניצחון. קראנץ אחד ממולא בנוטלה, השני בחלבה ושוקולד לבן ואת השאר הפכתי לעוגות קינמון עם קצת ברס.  

The last time I Baked a yeast cake it received the title "Chocolate Bread" (and not as a compliment). This incident made me ignore the existence of this gray cube until I ran into a simple explanation by Maggie. This became my Saturday project that ended with much success. I filled the first one with Notella, the second with Halva and white chocolate, and the third with cinnamon and caramelized hazel nuts.

תפוח אדמה סגול - Purple Potato

בינתיים הקרבתי אחד לבדיקה. הוספתי לתפוחי אדמה צהובים שנאפו בתנור לפני כמה ימים. טעמו הזכיר קצת ערמונים. נשארה קופסה שלמה של הפלא הצבעוני הזה, למישהו יש רעיון מה כדאי לעשות איתם? מבטיחה לצלם את המנה הנבחרת. 

Meanwhile I sacrificed one of them for experimenting. I added it to normal yellow potatoes that were baking in the oven a few days ago. It tasted a bit like chestnuts. There is still a whole box of this colorful miracle. Does anybody have an idea what to do with them? I promise to photograph to chosen dish.

קר וורוד - Cold and Pink

החום הבלתי נסבל הזה מצמצם את שעות ה"חוץ" שלי בעיקר לשעות אחר הצהריים. לכן בשעות הבוקר אני עסוקה בלחפש את עצמי במטבח, בסטודיו ובחדר העבודה לסירוגין.

ערבבתי רוטב פירות יער שנשאר לי מהעוגה יחד עם יוגורט, הוספתי מעט אבקת סוכר והקפאתי בכוסות זכוכית עם מקלון. שווה!

This unbearable heat minimizes my outdoor hours mainly to the afternoon. In the morning I am busy finding myself in the kitchen, studio and work room.

I mixed some berry sauce I had left over from this cake together with yogurt and added some sugar powder and froze it in glasses with a stick. Magnificent!

יבול ראשון וחריף - First Spicy Crop

שוק הפשפשים # 4 Flea Market

והפעם ארוחה אצל ד"ר שקשוקה וגם ביקור בחנות "פלשתינה (א"י) – בית מסחר לחפצים ישנים". שמחזיקה חפצים שיוצרו עד שנת 1948 וממוקמת ברחוב עולי ציון מספר 8.  

And this time a meal at Doctor Shakshuka and a visit at a shop called "Palestina (Eretz Israel) – A Shop for Old Things" which has many antiques produced before 1948. It is located in 8 Olay Zion Street.

הסטודיו שלי My Studio

סוף סוף התחדשתי בציוד סטודיו מקצועי. עולם חדש של אור (וצל) נפתח בפני ואני מעבירה את הימים (והלילות) בניסויים שונים ומשונים. תודה לאלי מפוטופריק שהיה סבלני והסביר לי לאט וברור וגם לקח אותי ואת השלל הביתה עד לקומה רביעית. 

At last I received my professional studio equipment. A new world of light and shade has opened and my days and nights are spent experimenting. Thanks to Eli from "Photo Freak"  who was patient and explained every thing sloe and clear and even gave me a ride with the stuff up to the forth floor.

סדנת צילום - Photography Workshop

ביום שישי העברתי סדנת צילום אחד על אחד (או בעצם אחת על אחת) לתלמידה חרוצה נלהבת וכשרונית במיוחד. סיירנו בשווקים של מרכז תל אביב וגם קצת בגן הציבורי. התרכזנו בעיקר באנשים (עם כובעים או בלי) ובשפע הסחורות בבסטות השונות. 

On Friday I held a workshop, one on one, to a remarkably diligent, enthusiastic and talented student. We took a trip around the markets and parks of central Tel Aviv. We mainly focused on people (with hats and without hats) and on the colorful stalls.
